Let me say this, "I am not a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA)." I say that because it is frequently assumed that I am in the PCA. This is probably because I have some good friends in the PCA and my theology is probably more closely related to that of the PCA than any other group. I find there is much in the PCA to commend and would not hesitate recommending them as a faithful gospel preaching denomination. The PCA also has some good African-American preachers seeking to contextualize the gospel without losing the gospel. In fact, within the PCA is an African-American Ministry, which seeks to promote reformed theology and the PCA among African-Americans. The ministry has a vision. Take a look.

I'm also not in the PCA, but I have been encouraged over the past few years that the Reformed leaning have started to look less homogeneous, ethnically speaking, that is.
Praise be to God for baby steps toward desegregation of Sunday, but we have a long way to go, particularly in my beloved SBC.
This is very encouraging to hear.
This is very exciting indeed. My heart is warmed by this and it brings much joy and comfort in a time where I am seeing our communities flooded with uncovincted and unfaithful churches (to the Gospel not social wellness).
BTW me and some brothers are trying to make it up there in June hope to see you there.
Woods,
I hope you can make it. Besides, Chicago is not far from "The Harbor." You might be able to sneek up there for a few days.
New Life Bible Conference or Bust!
I agree with Gunny. Though I'm a Baptist, I've considered going to a PCA. The one I've visited in Fort Worth is much more sound in doctrine and practice than the vast majority of SBC churches I have attended. It's encouraging to see the gospel being preached in its fullness.
John,
If you're looking for a good solid Church in Fort Worth you may want to Check out Christ the Redeemer church.
I an also Southern Baptist, but have more in common (theologically) with the PCA than many SB churches. However, my city does not have a PCA church (only PCUSA), and (thankfully) my SB pastor is reformed in his soteriology.
look i apologize for not addressing the issue above but i just relocated to houston and I am looking for a church home and I don't know who to ask. does anyone know of a strong, well-structured reformed church where i can learn solid doctrine and ultimately glorify God?
Where in Houston?
I've compiled a list of links for Reformed churches that might be good to start.
i'm living on the far east side in houston almost near channelview but i will travel as far as I can for a good church home. how about lakewood church with joel osteen? just kidding...
Hey Anonymous you also have Sovereign Grace Houston which is part of the Sovereign Grace movement (CJ Mahaney and crew). I have spoken with the pastor and it is a multi-cultural church and he seems to be a lovely fella (and he is black in case you wanted to know). Here is the link

Huh . . .
Well, I actually *am* in the PCA (am I the only one here so far?), and have seen this video a few times. Very encouraging to me, especially as a black man who also happens to be a PCA ruling elder.
