There is the ridiculous, and then there is the sublimely ridiculous. After looking at this clip, is there any wonder why we need more churches. When this too often is the alternative, we must be all the more urgent to establish churches where God, not gimmicks, is the focus; and where people come to hear the gospel and not watch the goofy.
Too funny not to laugh. Too sad not to cry.

My spirit is vexed.
T-
OK - after I wiped the tears from my eyes for laughing so hard, I couldn't help but think about the seeker sensitive theological marketing model.
That video was just a representation of the metaphorical "crash and burn" of the church as we once knew it - and Christ intended it to be.
But who cares - just keep getting them through the door, right?
"we must be all the more urgent to establish churches..."
I agree with you 100%, you know where I am coming from, my Brother.
We cannot establish Churches if we urge our preahcers into academia, Bro!
Help him, T.
Would not want to encourage anyone to do anything except what God is encouraging them to do. In other words, I would not want to push someone into the seminary whom God is leading into the pulpit. And I would not want to push someone into the pulpit, whom God is leading into the seminary. Let's see what the Spirit of God is saying!
Help him, Lord.
Amen brother. I just can't believe that happened inside a church.
Very sad!
Wow, this is truly revealing about the state of "American" Christianity.
Loulove, is there a push for brothers to pursue careers in academia? (full disclosure: I am a pastor who teaches at a seminary)
Wow, wow, wow, how did we move from "urge" to "encourage" to "PUSH"?
Carter, you are being much to subjective for me, "it makes me feel kind of funny" (Major Payne).
How would you know what God is encouraging them to do?
So would your encourement come before or after the decision?
At what point do we know what the Spirit of God is saying?
And quit acting like I'm the one who gave the appeal for Church planting at the last CRC meeting.
Help him Lawd, and T and Jonas!
SmithBaptist:
Carter and I are having an ongoing debate about the Pulpit vs. the Podium regarding a particular case. The ideal is certainly your situation.
C'mon Lou. You have my number, man.
You know I'm just messing with you man!
I thought I was going to have to come and do an ear clean :-).
Whatever happened to openning the bible and dealing with a text of scripture?
